John Dover is a trumpeter, based out of Portland Oregon. His experience spans multiple genre’s from Rock, Blues, Latin, Jazz, Classical and beyond. Recent projects include recordings and performances with Ben Rice and the PDX Hustle, The Colin Trio, The Three D’s, his own solo project, and a number of indie recording projects. Other ensembles John has worked with include The Portlandia Brass Ensemble, Kris DeeLane and the Hurt, The Salem Symphony, and many more.

Along with his busy performance and recording schedule, he is an endorsed artist and clinician for Bach trumpets, teaches, and provides brass coaching for many local schools. Along with his teachings, he is the author of The Intentional Trumpeter, a method book that encapsulates his musical and practicing philosophies.

Outside of music, John has published the Johnny Scotch comic book and novel series’, Once Upon A Fang in the West, for Not a Pipe Publishing, and a number of short stories in various anthologies.
